State awards $1.4M grant to Bristol preschool

 

BRISTOL — The state has awarded a $1.4 million dollar grant to assist with the Bristol Preschool Child Care Center’s continued renovations and improvements at its new home in the old Jennings Elementary School on Burlington Avenue.

 

State Rep. Whit Betts, R-Bristol, and state Sen. Henri Martin, R-Bristol, applauded the decision to award the grant. The money will be used to finance the renovations and improvements to the facility’s first floor.

School’s rebirth: Bristol Preschool Child Care Center opens at old elementary school

 

BRISTOL — The old Jennings Elementary School has come back to life with the opening of the new Bristol Preschool Child Care Center facility there.

Shirley Anderson, executive director, said the organization searched for more than 10 years for the right location to provide subsidized, affordable infant-toddler care for the community.

What We Do and Why


Art is an important part of our curriculum. Every day, children find a variety of art materials available on our shelves. Drawing, painting, cutting, pasting, and playing with playdough are not only enjoyable but also provide important opportunities for learning. Children express original ideas and feelings, improve their coordination, develop small muscle skills, learn to recognize colors and textures, and develop creativity and pride in their accomplishments by exploring and using art materials.
